Dee: I decided to lean into it when we went to the movies...
Emily: What do you - OH, hence the skirt!
Dee: Yeah. Maybe it was risky to try to positively inspire someone... I might've hopelessly put them off instead...
Emily: They remembered and asked about you, and made a point of telling me I can bring you to stuff, so I reckon you did something good! Aw, that's so sweet! I had no idea! But hey, it made me wonder... I know you always say you don't care if you get called a man or whatever, but... Do you wish I didn't always default to that? Should I, like, switch up what pronouns I use, or call you "they", or...?
Dee: Haha, what? No, I really don't mind. That sounds like a bit of effort, don't worry about it.
Emily: But if it matters to you, I should put in the effort!
Dee: I - but - it doesn't! I truly don't care, I've always - People do use all sorts of pronouns for me, and I have no preference.
Emily: Okay then... but I still wish I'd thought to ask earlier.
Dee: ok... Well, if you want to use different pronouns for me, by all means, you can. I won't mind. If you want to practise for someone else, or...
Emily: Good idea! Practise might help, if I'm ever gonna go into this "queer lounge"...
Dee: ... what's that?
