(Emily waits outside the locker room while Markus, Abe, and their friends leave with their lunches. She follows them as they head into an empty classroom and lurks outside the door, eavesdropping.)
Markus: Hey, do any of you know why Emily doesn't live with her parents?
Abe: She doesn't?
Markus: No.
Iris: Really?
Jad: I knew that.
Markus: Really? Since when?
Jad: On the class contact sheet. Her surname doesn't match the people she lives with.
Iris: Oh yeah! That's true! I noticed that once.
Markus: I think they're her aunt and uncle...
