Dee: I… can…I can act.
Emily: Can you really?
Dee: Sort of. Not like… performing … I take on roles, though, you know? When I do my job. Actually, always.
Emily: Always? Even around me?
Dee: Well, yes. I think you'd find it harder if I wasn't acting so human. Though maybe this isn't much of a skill, since I'm not sure I could stop, exactly.
Emily: Oh, that was going to be my next question. So: one more. (Smacks down a binder onto her bedroom desk.)
Dee: Oh. Um… patience? SIGH That'll do. God, this was harder than it should have been.
Emily: I'll say. I filled a page in like half that time.
Dee: You what?
Emily: That's what I was doing.
(Slips a page out of the folder and hands it to Dee.)
Dee:This is what you think of me?
Emily: Yeah.
