Emily: How do they know, though?
Markus: I don- Hey, is that - ?
(A familiar face is at the Queer Department stall and they spot each other.)
Harrison: Oh my god! Emily! Markus! Hey!
Emily: Harrison! Or - um - (Cogs turning as she looks at Harrison's outfit, which includes a flower crown and a beaded necklace)
Harrison/Hattie: Haha it's fine - but I go more by Hattie, now. And my pronouns are: they, them, theirs!
Markus: Huh! Is this new?
Hattie: Well I've been out as nonbinary since end of first semester last year -
Markus: oh
Hattie: but the pronouns are new! Well kinda. I kept saying "any pronouns" but I wanted people to mix it up. Instead they just stuck with "he". Really goes to show... So now the options are GONE! I'm all they, baby!
Markus: Good for you!
Emily: That's cool!
(She picks up a booklet off the stall called 'what are pronouns' and starts to read it.)
Emily: What does Jenny think? Does she think you're crowding on her territory?
Hattie: Haha nah
